James Meyer began his career in the U.S. as an Art Director in advertising for 10 years, writing and producing TV commercials for Kellogg’s, Heinz, & Wendy’s. Sara began her career in musical theater as a singer/dancer and on camera as model/actress for 10 years in Chicago.

Over the past 30 years, they’ve travelled to more than 75 countries, making documentaries and films of the people in these colorfully rich places.

Together, James and Sara founded GemStone Media in 2006 in Germany. GemStone Media is an international film production company that produces positive, engaging stories that honor the cultural uniqueness of the people where the story is set.

Producing, writing, directing, filming and editing the feature film The Kingdom in the lush vineyards of Kosovo has been a career highlight for them.
